Holland September 2018 - Bunker in the Dunes

Published: 21.11.2018

We ended our beach walk again in the dunes. There was a small bunker museum to visit, completely free of charge! There were two bunkers. One could be viewed from the outside and had a nice view of the dunes and the beach from above. The other one could even be visited from the inside. From the outside, the bunker didn't look as big as it was on the inside. Inside, it was cool and a little musty. Various rooms with information boards and exhibits gave a small idea of what it must have been like when the bunker was in use during World War II.

After the little bunker tour, we made our way back to our apartment. There, we changed into some more comfortable clothes and went back to the beach. There, we found a wooden platform where we made ourselves comfortable and had a wonderful view of the beach. From here, we could watch the people with their dogs. And there were really a lot of them! Julianadorp is a true dog paradise!

In the evening, we went back home, cooked spaghetti, and spent the rest of the evening comfortably on the couch.
