Upon arriving in Knysna, there was a bit of rain and fog. But the "Elephant Hide" hotel is beautifully located, so the rain was quickly forgotten. After the great breakfast on Monday, the girls went to the pool (I’ll just say 🥶) and after a bit of relaxing we decided to go kayaking on Thesen's Island. Here, after the "strenuous" zigzag paddling by Coco and me, we first had a light snack at the tapas bar. What can I say, Toni comes back as a sushi roll 😂. But it really is very tasty.

Today we decided to show the children a more "authentic" Africa. We took a really nice tour through the township. Truly impressive and makes one stop and realize that not everything is bad…. I hope it was a great experience for our kids as well.

Afterwards, we headed to the wonderful Leisure Isle. The two mountains that form the opening to the Indian Ocean are called "The Knysna Heads" here. We were able to bathe a little in the Indian Ocean.

As Knysna Heads, the harbor entrance of the port of Knysna is referred to. The entrance is flanked by two sandstone cliffs and leads from the Indian Ocean into the estuary of the Knysna River (English Knysna Lagoon). The Royal Navy once referred to the entrance as the most dangerous entrance in the world (excerpt from Wikipedia)

In between, a shopping trip to SPAR was necessary, and here stands the Christmas tree 🎄. Totally quirky
