From Wellington, it is almost 300km towards Egmont National Park with Mount Taranaki.
The morning begins with drizzle and the weather is changeable throughout the day.
After a short stop in Wagnanui, we head to the Dawsons Falls Visitor Center in the national park. Mount Taranaki is almost completely covered in clouds; let's see if I will get to see the mountain completely today.
I embark on a short hike to Dawson Falls, an 18m high waterfall.
Then we continue to the lighthouse at Cape Egmont and the Te Rewa Rewa Bridge in New Plymouth.
After checking in at the motel, I realize that I have direct views of Mount Taranaki from my window.
When the moment seems right, I drive to a viewing platform and see Mount Taranaki almost cloudless.
Later, I can enjoy a beautiful sunset from the motel.
