On the second day of our Erasmus trip, we first visited İŞKUR (Turkish Employment Agency), the Turkish job agency. There, we gained interesting insights into their work. The organization supports individuals in their job search, promotes employment opportunities, and offers various measures for professional qualification. We also learned more about unemployment insurance and İŞKUR's role in combating unemployment in Turkey.
Next, we visited the Eskişehir İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü – PIKTES Provincial Coordination Office. We were introduced to the PIKTES project, which supports the integration and education of children with migration and refugee backgrounds in the Turkish education system. We learned more about language courses, early childhood education offers, remedial classes, and programs for reintegrating children and youth into school. It was particularly impressive to see how many students have already been supported through these measures.
The day provided us with exciting insights into the Turkish education and employment system and demonstrated how various organizations contribute to social integration and equality of opportunity.
