Hamburg | from Blankenese to Oevelgönne
The Hamburg district of Blankenese is around 15 km downstream from the Elbe. You wouldn't believe how hilly Hamburg can be if you haven't walked through the staircase district...

Hamburg Dungeon was exciting! In a group you go through various scenes from Hamburg's history (e.g. court hearings, city fire, plague). There you are transported by actors into a lively, often surprising experience of history and partly take part in it.
We then went along the Elbe via St. Pauli to Altona. The fish auction hall in Altona is worth seeing just because of its beautiful architecture. From the Altona balcony you have a good view over the Elbe and the harbor. We went past the stately Altona town hall to the park at Platz der Republik, where we were able to admire the impressive Stuhlmann fountain.
By the way, there are many fish restaurants in the Altona fish market area. Delicious!
