Hello,
I'm currently at my girlfriend's place in Manly, and after a wonderful and exhausting day, we took a second breakfast break and had a nap. Overall, it was a lovely and relaxing day.
I had an equally relaxed day with Finn and Marilou in Auckland. It was my last day in New Zealand, and a day filled with some of the hardest goodbyes. But before we get to the farewells, let me tell you about the great day we had. The day started with a cozy breakfast with Finn before we headed to Parnell to meet up with Marilou.
Parnell is a small district, or rather a very long street with very old buildings and shops that are really quite charming.
We strolled through the streets, enjoyed a delicious coffee, and just chatted for a bit.
After that, we headed downtown to go up the Sky Tower in Auckland. It was a cool experience and a really nice farewell in New Zealand. Thanks to the good weather, we could see very far and enjoyed the view.
We really enjoyed the view, and after taking it all in, I packed my things from Finn's car and went into turtle travel mode to check into the hostel. The farewell from Finn and Marilou was genuinely hard and filled with tears, as these two wonderful souls were my absolute support here and just two colorful personalities. I am very sure that I will see these two again!
After a very tearful goodbye, I was quite exhausted, so after I exchanged some money, I treated myself to a few slices of pizza and then collapsed into bed completely worn out. The next day, I headed to the airport early and off to Fiji.
The next post will then be dedicated to Hobbiton and will mostly consist of pictures. So stay tuned.
Yours, Britta
