Hello Hamilton,
The nearest larger city close to Cambridge, and also the city that likely has the most gardens in New Zealand - the Hamilton Gardens. After having plans and adventures on almost all my free days before, I actually intended to have a quiet weekend, but somehow it turned into a visit to the bouldering gym and a wonderful trip with Yvonne through the Hamilton Gardens. Since I was so excited about climbing in the last post, that was a part of this day that I would call relaxing.

After climbing, we went to the café at the gardens, where I had a delicious ice cream as a reward before heading into the various gardens.

All the gardens are designed in various ways and reflect the gardens of a country or a culture. There isn't much more to say about this day, as the pictures clearly show which country or culture is being represented here. The gardens are 100% maintained by volunteers, and until a few weeks ago, they were also free to visit. The current admission price is 20 NZD, which is more than fair for the entire attraction.
The tour began with the Chinese Gardens:

All in all, a wonderful and relaxing day in Hamilton. The next adventures are sure to be a bit more adventurous.
Your Britta
