Candlelight Concert
A small post for a great piece of feeling and music.

Hello my dears,
how are you? We had 27 degrees today and it's gradually getting really summery here. I also felt summery when I took a day trip to Raglan. Although I had a good night's sleep, I still decided to go to Raglan. At first, I was indecisive, but in the end, I was really glad I went because it was a truly beautiful day. This wonderful day consisted of a slow start in the morning, a visit to the Bridal Veil Falls, and then a delicious coffee and cake in the lovely cafés of the surfer town of Raglan.

The waterfalls are among the most beautiful I've found in New Zealand, along with the Devil's Punchbowl, and it's truly wonderful because the waterfalls here have a viewing point at the start, one in the middle of the path, and another at the end of the path, which gives hikers a wonderful view and different angles of this fantastic waterfall. The entire path to the base of the waterfall takes about 40 minutes from the parking lot - some steps, but everything is well-maintained and it's just a great little trip with a TOP view.
After this little hike, I went to Raglan for a bite to eat. I parked a bit outside and then slowly strolled through the town. The weather wasn't perfect, but it definitely wasn't pouring rain, so I wandered around a bit in the town and looked for a suitable café where I could relax. In New Zealand, this is often easier said than done because almost all the good/cozy cafés close around 3. So exactly at the time I usually aim for to enjoy coffee and cake.

After being turned away by a few cafés, I finally found the La La Land Café. A café run by a Pole who emigrated to New Zealand 7 years ago, and I am exceptionally happy that I ended up here because the cake was top-notch and the cozy ambiance was just a dream.

The pictures definitely show how happy I was, and I sat there for about 1 hour just letting time pass while enjoying the cake and watching the people stroll through the town, also enjoying this calm day.
On the way back to the car, I happened to be at the right place at the right time because when I walked past the Free Shelf in the town, the local bakery brought over yesterday's bread, and I got 2 super delicious multigrain breads for free. A trip that was truly worthwhile.
And with that, I wish you a good night, and I'll see you again in the next post.
Your Britta
