Leaving Turkey turned out to be somewhat challenging. After successfully passing through passport control and customs and securing my motorcycle safely in the belly of the ferry, a staff member of the shipping company noticed that I hadn’t received an export certificate for my motorcycle. I had to return to customs. Here it became clear that I had initially re-entered and then exited again. This led to further complications. Because after I obtained the necessary certificate, the motorcycle was supposed to go through the X-ray machine. I had to retrieve the motorcycle from the ferry again. After that, it was back on the ferry, and we could finally set sail, albeit with a delay. Entering Greece went as smoothly as boarding the ferry to Piraeus. On the ferry to Greece, I met a Turkish motorcyclist and later two German women with 'Turkish roots'. I had dinner with them before departure.
