Today we are leaving a bit earlier. It is raining heavily for the first time today. We are on our way to Le Vauclin, the most important fishing port in Martinique. The rain stops again, but it is very windy. Ideal weather for kite and windsurfing at the beach. We are just watching. We continue on narrow, bumpy roads to the Jardin de la Montagne, a beautifully idyllic garden in the mountains. We admire gorgeous plants, coffee, cocoa, orchids, turmeric, hummingbirds, and even a few lizards. There are many wonderful views of the sea on this drive. Once back at sea level, we head towards Cap Macabou, but we can't really swim there as it is very stormy. The road is quite bad again. Many large holes in the road and the GPS leads us directly to them. After the exhausting journey into the mountains, Babsi is already quite annoyed, and we make a driver change. We continue towards Anse Michele - a small cove with a little restaurant and funny staff. It's simply nice to sit under the palm trees and look at the sea. The sea is also still too stormy for swimming on this side. We head to the Quartier and enjoy the evening on the terrace.
