Since the apartment is located right by the beach, I go for a few rounds of swimming before breakfast. The breakfast on the terrace tastes excellent as always, and we can set off on today’s tour with full stomachs again. Today's destination is Plage de la Perle, with a stop at Plage de Sainte-Rose. The Plage de la Perle lives up to its name. For me, it is currently number one😉 - turquoise sea and golden sand. There aren’t many bathers at the beach. The sea has high waves and rain clouds are gathering. We look for a more rainproof place. The rain is quite heavy but passes quickly, and we’re glad to be sitting dry and also getting some good food here. But one must be very careful, as some nimble birds have settled around this establishment, and if you push your plate a bit too far from you, they are quick to try and nibble. Here, and all over the island, roosters and hens with their chicks roam freely, so it can happen that they want to steal a bite too. The way back takes a bit longer due to traffic once again. What is striking is that Guadeloupe has the same place names as Martinique. In the evening, we go to the nearby casino and come home with a few euros more than we went in with.
