We get up early today and walk without breakfast to the ferry terminal in Fort de France. Check-in starts at 7:45 AM, and departure is supposed to be at 9:45 AM. After checking in our luggage and going through security - just like at the airport - we reach the hall, and then the waiting begins. With about 1.5 hours delay, the ferry L'Express departs and travels along the island, where you can see Saint-Pierre and the Peleé volcano beautifully. Passengers disembark at the island of Dominica, and new ones come on board.

We arrive at the ferry terminal in Guadeloupe after 3 PM and are looking for a taxi that can take us to the Sixt car rental in Baie Mahoult. However, it's not that easy to find a taxi driver willing to take us there. One taxi driver agrees to take us to Sixt at the airport. Well, there isn’t just one airport nearby. We arrive at Sixt, but unfortunately, it’s not the booked station, and the correct station will close in about 30 minutes, which makes it very difficult to get a taxi at this time that can take us to the right station on time. It’s no use; we take a car from this station and will drive to the correct station tomorrow to pick up the booked vehicle. Happy that the staff was so cooperative, we then drive to our accommodation at Le Gosier - Savanne 82 - Vue mer - Accés Plage. With the code, we receive the keys and look for our parking space and the apartment with a direct view of the sea on the first floor. We’re glad it’s just the first floor. As could be expected after such a day - the lift is broken, and we lug our way too heavy suitcases up the stairs. In a nearby place, we get something good to eat.
