The first stop on our journey should be in Hainich, at a forest resort (in Germany). We got up at four in the morning so that we could leave around five. A bit delayed, we finally set off! The drive took six hours. Of course, we took two breaks. At seven and around ten o'clock. At the first rest area, there was a playground with a strange device that I had a lot of fun with. It was a kind of spinning chair without a backrest that you could sit in.
The car ride went almost flawlessly. Since we were all very tired, the neck pillow (a type of pillow that you can attach around your neck) was my hero! With it, I could sleep wonderfully.
We arrived exhausted around 1:30 PM. It was extremely hot - well over 30°C. Nevertheless, the first impression wasn’t bad. The forest resort is a complex with many holiday houses in red, blue, or green. We occupied one right in front of a horse paddock! We had barely arrived when Gina had already managed to tear down two curtains with her claws. That got us quite upset. The good thing was that the bedrooms were nice and cool, otherwise we would probably have suffocated. Later, Ida and I cooked pasta with tomato sauce for the first time alone. It was a bit tedious because it was so warm and the water for the pasta just wouldn't boil. Still, it tasted good in the end. After that, we took a walk with the dog in the forest. We quickly realized that we were further north, as it noticeably cools down in the evening – unlike in Switzerland. The forest is super beautiful and dense. You can clearly see that it is not managed. For those interested in the Hainich National Park, here is the link:
