Day 21: Mataranka - Renner Springs

Published: 15.11.2016

Despite the loud chorus of crickets, we all slept very well. Since it's already quite warm in the morning, we decide to have breakfast in the motorhome. We pack our swimsuits and go back to the hot springs. The bats are chilling and hanging like Christmas baubles in the palm trees. We enjoy the bath in the natural pools. Today too, the water is a refreshing escape due to the high air temperature.

For lunch, we have a seafood basket with fries and salad at the restaurant. We use the time to update our blog and check our emails. The WiFi here is the fastest we've had since we started traveling.

We prepare the motorhome for travel. We want to go as far south as the children will allow. Tired from swimming and the heat, our two little ones quickly fall asleep. We pass the remaining travel time with eating, watching movies on the tablet, or playing games. We cover approximately 400 kilometers. There were only 3 curves on the whole route, otherwise it was always straight ahead. It's almost unbelievable for Mühlviertler residents accustomed to winding roads!

Our overnight parking spot is at the Desert Inn Caravan Park in Renner Springs. The place is very basic, but better than we expected. Two other campers have also ended up here. We have sliced meat with rice for dinner at a pleasant 30 degrees Celsius. Samuel is happy that there are peacocks here as well, just like in Mataranka. In the distance, we observe a massive thunderstorm.
