Tag 50: Mallacoota - Eden - Merimbula

Published: 14.12.2016

Today the sun is shining again. That makes getting up much easier. We have a leisurely breakfast and get everything ready to leave. Samuel plays with Emilian and Marla. We say goodbye and drive a short distance to the starting point for our hike.

From the wide range of walks around Mallacoota, we have chosen the Betka River Look Walk. The weather is perfect for a hike - sunny, mild temperatures, and a slight breeze. The trail initially goes through the forest and then near the coast. There are great views of the beach and the sea. We extend the route a bit and are back at the parking lot after about an hour. Both kids fall asleep in the carrier during the hike.

Hiking makes you hungry and we grill our cheese krainer sausages at the picnic spot on the beach. We meet acquaintances: Verena, Helmut, Emilian and Marla, as well as Fleur and her family, are also here. We have a great relaxed afternoon at the beach and therefore don't leave until later. We won't make it to our original destination Narooma today. That's simply too far for us. The kids fall asleep in the camper immediately and we drive until just before 8 pm and end up in Merimbula.

A late check-in at Merimbula Beach Holiday Park is no problem. Michi takes the kids to the playground for a short while and cooks asparagus risotto with tuna steak.

We are very late with everything today, including going to bed. Unfortunately, the kids are not tired at all (no wonder, they slept again at 5 pm) and it's quite warm. It takes forever for them to fall asleep and therefore it takes us a while too.
