Our Permanent Pitch

Hello and good day,

In our first post, I would like to introduce you to our favorite weekend retreat. This is the Naturcampingplatz Isarhorn in Mittenwald, a beautiful natural camping site in the Karwendel Mountains by the banks of the Isar. You can choose your pitch in the middle of nature and have a wonderful view of the mountains from almost everywhere. That's why we became permanent campers and are here with our caravan. The location is perfect, and it serves as a good starting point for various activities. You can hike, go mountain biking, many people come for kayaking, and there are of course many other excursion destinations. With the spa card, regional buses can be used for free. By car, you can quickly reach Tyrol, Innsbruck, Garmisch, Walchensee, and even Munich is only an hour and a half away. You don't necessarily have to own a tent, a caravan, or a camper van; you can rent mobile homes, sleeping barrels, or small cabins here. The campsite is open all year round, with company holidays in November, and those who wish can enjoy winter camping here. The Isarhorner Alm takes care of your culinary needs with various (including international) dishes. We are here at any time of year when time allows. One thing, however, is definitely in need of improvement: the cleanliness and maintenance of the social building. I unfortunately cannot understand how some campers behave and leave the showers and toilets in such a state. Additionally, a one-time cleaning during the season without follow-up is not enough. The quality provided by the cleaning company also leaves much to be desired.

In the spring, we acquired a camper van and will be going on tour again; soon we want to head to Denmark, but we will report on that in due time!
