'36° and it's getting hotter...'

Who said there's always a fresh breeze by the sea??? Well, okay - the English Channel is probably not considered one of the recognized world seas. Today, I almost withered away on my bike. This led to the grotesque situation that I stepped into the dirtiest part of the English Channel - with about a hundred Indians on a 5m width, ignoring cigarette butts and paper debris (not even mentioning the other dirt...). Those who know me know that I was not feeling well at all.

But let me start from the beginning: Yesterday, we were still on the wide and empty beach of Bredene/B. Via Veurne (definitely worth seeing), we cycled towards the French border and crossed it at 17:08. And everything looks totally different now. Well, not immediately, but very soon. It became hilly and I found us a nice little private campsite. France - here we come!!! Micha briefly tried a free parking option by the sea - concrete, narrow, no shade... where do you want to make your morning coffee here??? :-/ When we arrived at the camping village I had chosen, we still didn't have the reservation confirmation and the exact coordinates. This led to... let's say... irritations among the 'fellow travelers'. We decided on a very natural campsite, everything very basic but quiet and green and shady. But why did I have to leave it today??? I could have had it so comfortable, but the eternal urge to move made me suggest a bike ride. My own fault! After showering in the evening, I felt much better again and the steak was the perfect end to the day.
