Whit Saturday, we usually spend it in Leipzig for 'people watching'; it's Wave-Gothic time! Perhaps some Aussies are there too. But today, we headed further inland, aiming for the 'Karijini National Park'. Before that, we took one last look at the gigantic rocks in the previous quarter, including the trusty 1.57m for size comparison. Then we drove towards the national park to 'Hamersley Gorge'. It's a canyon with several swimming pools, fed by a waterfall, and beautiful rock layers that have been compressed together over millions of years! Dark reddish-brown, interspersed with lighter structures! We made our way over gravel and frequently encountered these large road trains transporting iron ore from the nearby mine for shipment to China. Our car looked correspondingly reddish-brown. Then we had to seek out the local workforce, as we had a problem with our car. The mechanic from England was able to fix it. The workshop was right next to the gas station, the next one after our last stop. They operate 7 days a week from 7 AM to 5 PM. So, it was no problem arriving on Whit Saturday at 2:30 PM. 4 PM - problem solved! We then headed straight to our accommodation - 75 km into the 'Karijini National Park'. Surprise: A great tent awaited us with excellent service. As always, it got dark quickly, and then a beautiful starry sky spread out above us (without 'light pollution') - with the Milky Way - simply 'nice' ...!
