On the 7th day one should rest..., or do something else! For us, today was a hiking day. Start: 8:30 AM, 12 km to the starting point by car, 8 °C, sunny and very windy. We were well equipped for the 'Grand Canyon Walking Track' in the Blue Mountains. The parking lot still had plenty of space, but it was fully occupied when we returned. The 6.5 km long trail is very well constructed for walking. We immersed ourselves in lush greenery, large ferns, dense bushes, passing by rock walls or going underneath them. Despite the good path, it was very quiet. The sun was shining, and it was calm in the canyon. Sometimes we crossed small streams over wet stepping stones. Having done well, we returned to the car after nearly 3 hours.
We then continued to Leura, the neighboring town of Katoomba, to the 'Teapot' Museum. There you can see teapots collected from various countries since 1974, about 11,000 of them. Additionally, there are now souvenirs, teas, jewelry..., many items can be purchased, and of course, one can enjoy tea and other things among all these items. We opted for black tea with cherry or strawberry flavor. Besides us, there were of course 'a few' other visitors there. The demand was high, and this was despite not being there during tea time. We strolled through the town, many people were out and about in the sunshine, and many shops were open. The thermometer didn't rise above 14 °C and the wind remained strong.
