Believing that we would finally understand how life works here in Colombia, we went to the Centro Comercial in Chía on Sunday. It's normal here to pack up your family and stroll through the shopping center on the weekend, eat in one of the many restaurants, and then relax in the shopping center's park. Unlike in Germany, it is completely normal here for the Centro Comercial to have at least one carousel and numerous entertainment options for the younger audience. After Johanna and I took two rounds through the shopping center, we decided to have a small lunch. We chose one of the Mexican restaurants and ate tacos and quesadillas. Since neither of us was in the mood for shopping, we decided to kill time with more food. So we chose one of the many ice cream stands and debated for minutes about which ice cream would be the best. When I had made up my mind, I ordered a scoop of lemon ice cream and a scoop of Oreo ice cream in a cone. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a misunderstanding with the saleswoman: in the end, I held an ice cream cone in each hand, one with lemon ice cream and one with Oreo ice cream.
So we might have understood the Flota, but we'll probably have to practice buying ice cream again.
