Despite often being laughed at, especially by my regulars, today I joined a Santiago Walking Tour. There were options for English and Spanish, but since the groups were both equally large, I joined the Spanish one to practice the language a little.
It went quite well, although I have to concentrate a lot and stand by the guide like a bodyguard. I even had some brief conversations with the mostly South American tourists. As a Greek, I'm already an exotic there :-)
Santiago has some buildings from the turn of the century, between 1870 and 1910, almost all designed by European architects. The tour lasted 4 hours, the weather was great, and everyone was in a good mood. It ended in the beautiful Barrio Bellavista.... I think I'll do another one tomorrow :-)>
