The trip with the caravan is expected to be a bit different than just with the robber's cave. Although here and there I am glad that we can currently heat our rolling home.
First of all, there is the longer travel time, that was clear to us, but that we can only move forward for the first 500km at an average speed of 65km per hour, rather not. Even if the snow and the occasional construction site slowed us down. By now Zappa is driving a bit faster, but it still takes time.
Of course, the costs are also higher, the Kangoo needs more fuel and the highway tolls...!
But even turning maneuvers require finger and toe sensitivity. It has to be well considered whether you really want to turn into this hollow alley if you want to avoid a long reverse journey with a trailer. Not that Zappa would be afraid there, but just the thought of it alone breaks me out in a sweat and it doesn't necessarily make the journey faster.
In Costa Brava, caravans and motorhomes are often prohibited from passing through, the reasons are not always clear. In some places, parking them is not even allowed. That means for us, a walk in the romantic fishing village or through the small harbor is often not possible. Apart from the fact that our vehicle measures about 12 meters, so there would usually not be enough space in the parking lots.
Bars over driveways are facilities that we have noticed before but never took seriously. Now they are real spoilers. With the Château, we just can't drive through 2.10m low barriers, no chance. Some romantic sleeping places have slipped through our fingers like this, but there's no use in being upset, just keep looking. And so far it has always worked out well with the standing places.
