Despite a few interruptions, I slept well. I pack my things and first go to the airport where I switch to the Skybus. This takes me to the city center. I purposely get off at the stop right next to the Town Hall. However, what I didn't consider is that now I have to go up a hill. After a little effort, I reached my destination. The YMCA Hostel. I deposit my luggage and head to the city center. Since it's already lunchtime, I decide to eat at Denny's. I treat myself to a chicken burger and a Coke. The burger tastes good. I mean, I've had better, but I've also had worse. The food is finished and I'm back on the road.
After a 10-minute walk, I end up in Albert Park. From here, you have a nice overview of Auckland. My motto is always to just walk around. This way of thinking usually takes me to the most interesting corners of a city. It's the same in Auckland, and my path leads me to Auckland Domain, a huge park. The view is almost breathtaking and the weather is somewhat decent.
Now I'm exhausted and return to my hostel. Now it's possible to check in. I have a German roommate who has already been in New Zealand for a month and worked on a farm. Maybe she'll even stay in New Zealand until May. After a nap, I feel better.
The anticipation for the Hoodie Allen concert in the evening is growing. At 7:30 PM, I leave the hostel and make my way to the Neck of the Woods. I'm surprised at how small the club is. There are probably about 100 people here. Furthermore, there are very interesting people here, people you wouldn't expect to go to a hip-hop concert. Randa performs as the supporting act. She's a rapper from New Zealand. At 9:05 PM, it's finally time and Hoodie takes the stage. It's once again an unforgettable experience, and he plays my two favorite songs, "The Chase is On" and "All My Friends".
