I started in Zagreb around 10am. The morning was good and I quickly left the urban part of the city behind. I will remember Zagreb as a beautiful Eastern European metropolis with a great old town. It's definitely worth coming back.
Adjacent to the north of the city is the Medvenica nature reserve, through which I rode up to 1000 meters above sea level to reach Sljeme. Besides the great views, this also gave me an impression of my physical condition and the bike's performance. Everything was fine. It took me 2 hours to ride to the top and the descent on the smooth asphalt was a lot of fun.
Through the foothills of Medvenica, I rode through small villages and small allotment gardens, where mostly private wine is produced.
Emotionally, the day was a roller coaster ride. From being full of energy to questioning why I am here. This led me to find a place to sleep on a slope of the Ivanšćica mountain. The location gave me the necessary peace for the night. The singing of birds accompanied me throughout the day and ended with an evening concert.
