California 2025, Day 3, Dockweiler Beach and El Segundo

Today’s day was all about: swimming, exploring the nearby area (that is, El Segundo), and relaxing. For swimming, we went to the nearby Dockweiler Beach, where the Pacific welcomed us with decent waves. We were greeted by two dolphins that jumped out of the waves right in front of Mia and me. Afterwards, we strolled a bit around El Segundo, experienced typical American suburban vibes (perfectly manicured front yards, neighborhood watches, etc.) and learned that the trend here seems to be towards artificial grass. Alternatively, the lawns are watered. The main thing is that they are perfectly trimmed and super green. In the evening, we drove a little on Highway 405 through LA. Here we actually made our first acquaintance with an unfriendly American. And that was only because I drove into the entrance for Getty despite two signs (we wanted to park the car here to enjoy the view over LA). It's absolutely incomprehensible why the guy reacted so unfriendly. So we drove back without accomplishing anything and even got a very brief glimpse of Bel Air. The topic of 'admiring LA from above' is thus back on the agenda for tomorrow. But then not from Getty, but from Griffith.
