Before anyone makes fun of my geography knowledge: yes, Las Vegas is not in California, but in Nevada. Nevertheless, we will continue to refer to it as our 'California vacation.' After another delicious breakfast at Denny's (the room service at Paris and the restaurants associated with Paris were just too expensive for us), we briefly took a look at the Strip (it's only somewhat fun to explore the city in desert heat) and then headed to the hotel pool (right under the Eiffel Tower) for some splashing around. Afterwards, we moved on to Horseshoe Arcade where we mostly played at the hotel's expense (as a welcome gift, we got some credit to gamble) and took down some zombies (House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn), evil cowboys, spiders, and other stuff (I unfortunately forgot the name of the game) and plenty of robots (Mission: Impossible), raced a few rounds (Mario Kart Arcade GP DX and Super Bikes 3), and Emma-Sophie and Alexandra rocked the dance mat. It's very sad that we don't have such arcades in Germany. I have no idea why people prefer to go to the casino (yawn) when there's an arcade right next door. After a very tasty pizza at Giordano's, we took another short trip along the Strip, watched the fountain show at the Bellagio, followed a chase between a cyclist and the police (haha), and then went to bed exhausted. By the way, the chase ended in favor of the police, even though at first it looked like the cyclist might escape. But he and we didn't anticipate the driving skills of the Las Vegas Police. It's just strange that no cars, barrels of gas, or anything exploded during this chase and not a single shot was fired. I'm slowly starting to believe that Hollywood movies don't show us the whole truth.
