Niagara Falls

Published: 26.07.2024

To get there before the "crowds" we left at around 8am. About 15 minutes to the Rainbow Bridge $5 Maud on the US side, passport control on the Canadian side πŸ˜† also quite thorough.

Then to the visitor center, which has now been developed into a very commercial center πŸ€‘πŸ€‘πŸ€‘ But I think back then - in 2004 - it wasn't like that.

We paid an additional 135€ or 189CAD for the Falls Passes.

There were 5 "stations" in it, as well as the trips on the Green Line (bus). Everything is a bit far apart.

We started with the Journey behind the Falls, in a yellow plastic poncho. Good for first pictures and an impression of the volume with which the water is constantly thundering down. Some visitors had capsule protection on πŸ‘πŸ»

Then take the bus to the Whirlpool Aero Car (cable car over the whirlpool) - wait about 20 minutes. Spectacular 🌊🌊🌊

Next up is the White Water Walk. Also impressive. The maximum speed measured in the water was 108km/h 😲

After a burger at the Hard Rock CafΓ© (BAD and expensive!) we walked through the crowds back to the Visitor Center and saw Niagara's Fury. Two films. One for kids and the second made for action with spraying water and shaking and visually a bit like a 360-degree cinema. The topic in both was the formation of the falls.

Finally, the power station and the tunnel. Both are well worth seeing!

From the 600m long tunnel you are standing pretty close to the falls. Great view! The hall of the power station offers a lot to learn about the history of the introduction of electricity, Nikola Tesla and so on.

All 5 stations completed πŸ‘πŸ» and now really exhausted with flat feet 🀣
