Hey,
After hardly seeing anything noteworthy in Suzhou in my first week, I saw a lot this week ๐ especially a lot of sun and blue sky ๐ Finally saw one of the lakes here, too bad you can't swim in them. But they still look pretty good, as you can probably see from the pictures. The skyline is also quite nice to look at, but here in China people go to bed very early so by 10 o'clock almost all the lights are out. The mega big pants, I mean the building that looks like that, is almost uninhabited because hardly anyone can afford to live there. Quite a shame, considering the mega view.
The pictures of the food are from the all you can eat at the Japanese restaurant, it was pretty awesome but since it was extremely fish heavy, I tried almost everything. It was really delicious and I was stuffed at the end ๐ My highlights were the many different sushi variations, the avocado salad, and the dessert.
On Wednesdays we went to a Chinese restaurant, they cooked for everyone in one pot and there was a hot plate on the table where the food continued to cook and everyone ate from the pot. Unfortunately, there is no picture of it... Only of the dessert, a very amazing Oreo, coconut ice cream with fresh waffle from a small street vendor. The ice cream was really delicious ๐
Right now I'm lying on my 180x60cm wooden board in the train and I'm on my way to Huang Shan, also known as Yellow Mountains. It's supposed to be very beautiful, I'm really excited ๐ but for now I have to fall asleep in this pretty wobbly train so that I'm fit for the weekend.
See you later, Lena ๐
