Karst landscape near Guilin

Hello,

The karst mountains in Yangshuo/Guilin were simply breathtaking 😊 The landscape completely captivated me, I would go back there in a heartbeat... The mountains may not be high, more like hills, but they are truly special and unlike anything I have seen before. We also stayed at a fantastic hostel, the best one so far on our trip in China. This was mainly due to the delicious food we had there and the incredible location. 😊

We arrived late in the evening on the first day, but we could already see the mountains on the train ride and when we arrived at the hostel at night, the shadow of the mountains was impressive. The next day, we cycled along the river. It was a bit confusing at times because we weren't great with directions, but in the end we managed to see all the places we wanted to. Even though my butt was sore from all the cycling, it was a wonderful and amazing day 😊 The weather was great until the evening, but then it got a bit cloudy and the sunset from the viewpoint on one of the karst mountains we climbed was not as expected... especially because the city has ruined the beautiful landscape 😀 But it was a little adventure and we were glad when we were back at the hostel in the valley.

The next day, we woke up early to watch the sunrise by the river. Unfortunately, we haven't had much luck with sunrises and sunsets on our trip so far... too many clouds and 5 wild dogs told us to go back to bed...

Before our flight to Hainan in the evening, we enjoyed the river and the beautiful karst landscape once again. I would have loved to stay a bit longer, but our flight to Hainan for the sea and the beach was already booked. 🏖️
