Morocco - the second attempt!

In a few days, we will be flying to Casablanca, where we will start our road trip through Morocco - hopefully...

This is already the second attempt. I had previously planned, booked, and then had to completely cancel the whole trip - in a slightly different manner...

In the autumn of 2020, we wanted to travel from Marrakech to Agadir in 14 days - with a desert camp and the Atlas Mountains, and: with our kids!

The first big difference is that our 'kids' are now grown up; we will be doing the tour we had planned back then on our own.

Last summer, I set the route, booked a rental car (SUV), selected and booked all accommodations along the way (mostly riads or kasbahs, with a touch of 'luxury' from beach hotels / AI-hotels at the end).

Since there are currently no direct flights with Lufthansa to Marrakech / Agadir, I had to practically reverse and slightly modify the route.

We will now start in Casablanca - flights with Royal Air Maroc - and return from Agadir via Casablanca back to Frankfurt.

This year, Corona won't throw a wrench in our plans; however, there is war raging in Iran this year - affecting flights to the Gulf states.

Thank goodness we didn't choose Dubai for Easter but planned for Morocco!

We look forward to a - for us - new and unfamiliar country and are very excited to see what all we will experience... and whether everything will go 'smoothly' with our road trip by rental car. I've read that driving isn't always a harmless affair...
