We planned to hike the Milford Sound (Abel Tasman 2.0), unfortunately the crossing was not possible due to weather conditions.
However, we couldn't resist driving along the Milford Road and were rewarded with a breathtaking landscape.
Even though we were in the rainiest place on Earth, we had consistently good weather and lots of sunshine (we're sun children after all ;)
After arriving at our campground with the cutest hosts and even a fireplace in the cabin, we set off on the tracks.
Beautiful waterfalls, stunning 'rainforest atmosphere', and cheeky little keas (parrots that steal).
A day before heading to Queenstown, the three of us scaredy-cats walked into a pitch-black forest at night to see glowworms. Not many, but very beautiful to see. They say they glow brighter if you sing for them, but apparently they didn't like our 'All My Ducklings' performance XD
All in all, it was another great time and now we're getting a taste of city air in Queenstown. Quite unfamiliar, but somehow familiar too :)
Yours, Kyra
P.S. Mom, I love you
P.S. Jörg, I miss you so much
To everyone else, sending hugs and kisses
