When walking on the beach in North Jutland, you will occasionally come across bunkers from World War II. They belong to the North Atlantic defense wall built by the Third Reich at that time. One of the largest and most interesting bunker complexes in North Jutland is located on the beach of Løkken. Almost all bunkers are located on the beach and can partly be visited from the inside.
When we were in Løkken four years ago, most of the bunkers were still on top of the dune. They have now all been tipped onto the beach and are being washed by the waves of the North Sea. It is only a matter of time before they all sink into the sea.
After the sky cleared up around noon in strong northwest wind, we drove to Løkken, took a look at the rather touristy little town, and then parked our Juke on the beach. By the way, Løkken is not only known for its bunkers, but also for the countless white bathing cabins that are lined up along the beach and partly lovingly decorated.
