Route: Bike path Munich-Venice

11:20 (Krissi)

So today we could have slept in. I woke up at 7 o'clock and looked at the pictures of our trip. Hard to believe that we made it and 7 days are already over.

Now we are on the train to Venice. We still have to go to the Hard Rock Cafe and Alex wants to buy a T-shirt. Additionally, we finally want to go to the sea today. It's not that easy to find a beach nearby. Also, there is nothing accessible by bike - which I find really sad. But well, there are also islands everywhere that can only be reached by train or ferry. I'm curious what we have decided now: either Jesolo or a beach near Venice.

13:35 (Nico)

We are on our way from Venice to Jesolo or to Lido di Jesolo, where we can finally go swimming. We treated ourselves to a little ice cream in Venice (thanks to the sponsor Julle) and relaxed the tense atmosphere with food.

The bus driver drives really crazy and that's why my entry looks semi-nice. Krissi already feels sick because of it and has moved further forward. Max is dozing off and the other 3 are also chilling a bit. Luckily, the bus is air-conditioned. It's already so insanely hot outside again, that the ice cream almost melted away. But maybe it will be pleasantly cool in the sea.

Julle: "The cool kids are getting fewer and fewer" because Alex has now also moved forward. And now I'm dozing off too. Peace out.

21:03 (Julle)

We are on our way back with the bus. The beach was nice. At first, we couldn't find a shady spot to keep ourselves and our bought alcohol cool, we were constantly being chased away. At some point, we were able to sit in the shade of a beach stand and read our travel diary. Some older lady just stood right behind us and listened. Then it finally got a bit cooler and we bathed in the sea and got covered in sand and played drinking games and Twister on the now empty beach. When it got really cold and dark, we returned to the main street of Lido di Jesolo, which was much busier than this afternoon. There we sat down in a restaurant and treated ourselves to pizza as a conclusion of our vacation together. Then we went back to the bus station and now we are driving back to our accommodation.

The next day Nico, Alex, Max, and Krissi left our group. Only Anna and I remained. The reason for this was that the first 4 went home with the Flixbus, which doesn't take bikes. Alex's training starts on September 1st, but Anna would take a day off and then continue to Lake Garda to go climbing there. And I would spend one more day with Anna in Mestre before my in-laws picked me up along with 5 bicycles, because they were on vacation in the area anyway and would also take me home. So quite complicated, everything.

Anna and I enjoyed a very hot and relaxed day in the absolutely not recommended city of Mestre, which consists exclusively of ugly residential areas and even uglier industrial areas. At least we didn't see anything else. And we were on the road for 9 hours. It was a bit nicer in a non-shady park, a mini "city center" square, and at a port.

Our paths separated on September 1st, where I went home with my in-laws.
