We sleep in first. Tomorrow we will fly to Auckland, New Zealand. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of rain in the last few days, causing floods and landslides. Unfortunately, three people have died as a result of the floods. The National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) has already reported that in some areas of the city, 80 percent of the rainfall normally measured throughout the summer fell within 15 hours. Therefore, we are trying to reach our accommodation and car rental to find out if they have been affected in any way. The airport was temporarily closed but is expected to reopen on Monday. So, we are trying to make the most of our last day in Sydney by taking a trip to Manly and taking the ferry from Sydney Harbour.
Arriving at Manly Wharf, we walk along the shopping passage to Manly Beach.
From there, you can hike along the coast to Shelly Beach. During our hike, we spot some iguanas.
In the afternoon, we have reached the halfway point of our journey (32.5 days) and we are already feeling a bit nostalgic as time passes by so quickly. We take the ferry back to Circular Quay and pass by the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. We then walk back to our neighborhood through Hyde Park and have dinner at a vegan restaurant.
