Today we want to explore the neighborhood of Newtown on foot. First, we walk through the CBD and visit a few shops, as Dennis wants to buy shorts. We quickly find what we are looking for and continue the tour. After that, we walk across the Pyrmont Bridge and watch a boat race in Darling Harbour. Arriving in the Pyrmont neighborhood, we pass by several small shops and cafes. We stroll through Wentworth Park and stop for a snack at the Sydney Broadway Shopping Centre. Then we walk through Victoria Park, which has a beautiful pond with ducks. We also spot seagulls, typical Australian ibises, pigeons, and cockatoos. We pass by the University of Sydney and arrive in Newtown, where it is now 32 degrees Celsius. We cool off with some ice cream. Newtown is a neighborhood known for its student population and has some trendy bars and multicultural restaurants. The appearance of the neighborhood is characterized by restored Victorian buildings and street art, including a mural of Martin Luther King. We walk through Newtown and admire the paintings. In the late afternoon, we take the train back to Kings Cross.
In the evening, we go to Betty's Burgers for dinner. After that, we have plans to meet up with the German yodeling group in Kings Cross. We start by going to a bar and then to a club.
