Hello,
There are not only beautiful days when you travel, sometimes there are days that are simply for s... or like in my case to sh... .
Today is one of those days again, initially still full of energy there was a dip 3 minutes before the bus arrived that was supposed to take us to Mandalay today. A normal situation to quickly use the toilet, but not normal today, it announced toughly another day with watery outcome and that just today when it means 21 hours bus ride again. Well then I'll be a toilet tester today, if you will, unfortunately in the wrong country but I have no choice. Looking for a chrome one with golden door handles is out of the question. Instead, I immediately take what is there at every stop. I will mention the first one here because I believe it is unbeatable in 1st place in the top 10 that I have to offer today. You simply had to leave the dining room at the back exit and you were already in a really beautiful s... world. Normally I would have turned around here at the latest, but today was not normal, my stomach seemed to burst soon, so I found a way past the pigs who were about to eat up the leftovers that came from above. Down the stairs were the compartments for human discharges, with further details I'd rather spare you here.
Fortunately, this was the climax of abormality, but I still saw quite a few toilets on the way to Mandalay.
There we arrived after about 21 hours of travel early at 4.30 a.m., one advantage of this trip should still be mentioned. The bus was not fully booked so I could enjoy this trip completely horizontally on the last row.
Okay Mandalay once again and immediately after arriving at the hotel we could quickly check into the rooms and thus sleep for a few more hours. Which was good, afterwards I felt much better and even felt fit enough to walk to Mandalay Hill, 5 km away, again. I climbed it, with its over 1700 steps, man that was exhausting again.
The next day I chose a destination that I didn't make it to last year, the Mahamuni Pagoda with its big Buddha.
Big because it is being covered more and more with gold leaf by the many believers and thus it is already totally deformed. This complex and the surrounding temples are also quite impressive.
In the evening then for the sunset and he recommends himself here of course at the U Bein Bridge, the big powerful and long teak wood bridge, always worth a visit.
So now it's time to travel on, next destination is Kalaw and the Inle region, so we will board the VIP bus in the evening for our night ride...
Good night.
