In the hope of better weather, we drove to Nowra. Nowra is the nearest major town to the famous Jervis Bay. The beaches were named among the most beautiful in the world a few years ago, so we naturally wanted to see them. We spent two nights at the city zoo. You can camp there cheaply and at night you can hear some animals.

We were really excited about the 'Super Blood Moon'. Unfortunately, the clouds blocked our view. We wished we were in the Outback now. Only at 4 a.m. we finally got to see something of the moon, but the main event was already over. At around 11 a.m. we made our way 30 km to the beach. The weather hadn't really improved, but we made the best of it. When we arrived at the sea, we were surprised, the beach was gone. Due to the super moon, the water level of the tides had risen by up to 4m and washed away the beach. We took a lunch break and grilled sausages. Later, when the tide was out again, we could access the beaches. We took a walk along the beaches of Jervis Bay. Sometimes the sun even came out and we could sunbathe. We spent the evening playing cards with other travelers. On the way back, we came across a wombat, a cute animal that can unfortunately also become aggressive.

The next day we went to Green Point, which is known for its excellent seafood. We ordered the seafood platter for 2 people. Instead of fries (not gluten-free), there was more salad. A really delicious lunch. We both tried oysters for the first time, verdict: not again :) After stuffing ourselves, we continued to Kiama.
