So, today we wake up for the first time in Krabi, now our vacation can really begin. Hopefully, my circulation will be better today. Fortunately, the jet lag is minimal, almost nonexistent. That's very good, so we can go to Ao Nang Beach right after breakfast, well-rested. At the ticket counter for the longtail boats, we buy two tickets for the trip to Railay Beach. The tickets cost 200 baht per person and can be redeemed easily right on the beach. Here, we also board the next boat, which is already filled, and off we go. Although we have been to Thailand twice before, this is the first time we are taking a longtail boat. And we can say: those things are quite loud! Fortunately, the ride doesn't last very long. We can disembark at Railay Beach in just 15 minutes. Some people are already here, but fortunately, it's not overcrowded. The water is super clear and the scenery is simply unique. We spread out our towel in the shade and stay here for a while. If you're looking for tranquility, this is not the right place. New longtail boats are constantly buzzing to the beach, spitting out more and more people. So the noise here is not really relaxing. But we didn't expect that either.
When it starts to get a bit too crowded, we want to make our way to the Phra Nang Cave or Phra Nang Beach. Supposedly, we can reach it on foot from here. After walking along the beach to the end and not finding any signs, we have to ask for directions. We approach a local fisherman who immediately knows what we're asking for (so we're apparently not the only tourists looking for directions here ;)). He sends us back to the middle of the beach, where we can either walk through the 'Railay Beach' hotel or through the alley with the food stalls. We decide to take the food stalls route because we somehow don't want to simply walk through the hotel. Here, you can find everything you need for your vacation. Various food stalls and restaurants, a few shops. Actually quite nicely done. Along the way, you can also observe some monkeys enjoying leftover food. We then get a delicious fruit shake and finally find the signs to our destination...
