Guanajuato 2

The older taxi driver from Irapuato drove towards Guanajuato. Or so I thought. He was driving pretty fast and the whole taxi smelled like smoke. After a while, we stopped at another bus terminal. 3 weeks later, when I bought a ticket back to Mexico City there, I realized that it was the Terminal Central de Autobuses de Guanajuato).

Well, he wanted to drop me off here. In this deserted area in the middle of the night. At first, I stayed calm and tried to explain to him that we were in the wrong place. I showed him the address again. He insisted that we were in the right place and suddenly, I was stunned, he admitted that he didn't know where my actual destination was!

I was tired, I needed to go to the bathroom, I didn't know where I was at 1:45 in the morning - that's when I exploded! I cursed at him, asking him how he dared to deceive me like that! He got his damn 100 pesos and he better take me to my accommodation or I'll call the police and the embassy! (I know, ridiculous, but I would do anything to reach my destination 😁)

Meanwhile, another taxi driver arrived. Mine fled to him and asked him for directions - without words. I just couldn't believe it.

Finally, the other taxi driver offered to drive me further. That seemed strange to me. Mine said he knew the way, he would take me to my destination for 50 pesos. I declined, after all, he approached me in Irapuato, claimed to know the way, and got his money! So he better take me to my destination. I got angry and loud again.

Finally, the taxi drivers offered that the other one would go first and we would follow him. For an extra 10 pesos. He can take those 10 pesos from his 100 pesos, I won't spend a penny more today, I said angrily to him.

Long story short, we took 2 taxis to my accommodation. I finally arrived there on Monday morning at 2:30 am, where my host father Señor Ayala was already waiting for me (whom I had informed via WhatsApp), he took my luggage and led me to my room.

The first thing I did was go to the bathroom.

Then I fell into bed as I was. It was Monday morning, 2:45 am.

On Monday morning at 8 o'clock, there was breakfast and at 8:30 o'clock, the Spanish lessons started at the Spanish language school Plateros."
