Today, almost all activities have been cancelled due to rain :(
Our overnight parking spot was almost the highlight of the day - it was only 50m away from a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the Torne Älv river.
Despite the rain, we didn't let it stop us from going on our planned short hike to a pile of stones (Jaipaljukka). The view was better than yesterday, but still not as good as we had hoped. It was a very nice trail and we had a lot of fun - it was treacherous and life-threatening - lots of wet roots, rocks, stairs, and boards that we had to balance on. After shopping - many things in Finland are much cheaper - we crossed the Arctic Circle again, multiple times! I just had to drive a few laps around the parking lot with the marker. The cave visit that was planned shortly after (Everstin Piilo) had to be cancelled due to rain and lack of parking space - what a pity!
Now we are back by the riverside, listening to the raindrops pattering on the roof.
