Day 1, Day 1 - September 19: Arrival and Arrival in New York

We met at the airport in Hanover at Terminal C at 4 o'clock in the morning to take our flight to Amsterdam at 6 o'clock. After saying goodbye to our families, we went to the check-in and dropped off our luggage. After a short wait, we were taken from the bus to the plane and flew for about an hour to Amsterdam.

Upon arrival in Amsterdam, we had enough time to buy some food and walk around after going through a security check. We went boarding at 11 o'clock and then boarded the plane to New York.

After about 8 hours of flying, we arrived in New York and were driven to New Jersey by a mini-bus, where our hostel was located. During the half-hour bus ride, we observed the area and noticed the clear difference from German streets and houses.

After quickly freshening up at the hostel, we took the subway towards the Empire State Building. Once there, we first took a look inside and enjoyed the animations in the elevator.

As the definite highlight of the day, we were able to enjoy the beautiful view over all of New York from the Empire State Building.

Afterwards, completely exhausted from the very tiring journey, we took the subway back to the hostel.
