Today is our departure day. We're a bit tense because we can't leave without having been to Table Mountain. Unfortunately, the cable car has been out of service for the last few days due to the wind... So we have to give it our all once again 😄!
First, we tried to have a relatively calm breakfast. After that, we checked out and left our things at the hotel. During breakfast, I bought two fast-track tickets. This means we won’t have to wait long at the entrance of Table Mountain for a gondola. The weather was great and we made it well by Uber. We only spent about 20 minutes in the fast-track line. To get to Table Mountain with a “normal ticket” via the cable car, you need to account for a waiting time of two to three hours. The rush is simply enormous 😅.
The view from Table Mountain is fantastic. It can’t be described any other way. On one side is Cape Town - on the other, you can follow the rock formations all the way to the Cape of Good Hope with your eyes. There are various hiking trails on Table Mountain and the tourist crowds spread out relatively well. Thus, you can find temporarily quieter spots that are not too crowded. You can also climb down from Table Mountain. I was interested in that, but we didn't have time for it. After about 1.5 hours, we went back down and sped back to the hotel in an Uber. We were assigned a room so that we could freshen up again. Exemplary service 👍🏻.
In the end, some of the staff said goodbye to us very kindly and hope that we will visit again. That was quite touching. We had grown somewhat fond of them because they are very hardworking, accommodating, fun, very friendly, and simply pleasant. Of course, they do this because it's their job and they also receive tips for it. However, we felt that it was at least somewhat authentic 😊.
At 2:30 PM (October 6th), a driver was supposed to pick us up and take us to the airport. I even ordered a coffee at the hotel bar and said,
