Due to the weather, we decided to visit the two museums in Campbell River today - and it was worth it. The Campbell River Museum was particularly great! Interesting information about the life of the First Nation, the settlement of Vancouver Island by Europeans and the living conditions of the loggers are clearly presented here. Some content is also digitally prepared - a really modern and worthwhile museum, which we didn't expect!
The Maritime Heritage Center explores Campbell River's maritime history. The restored fishing boat, which was depicted on the Canadian 5 dollar note in the 80s, is particularly beautiful. A very friendly, older gentleman welcomed us on this ship and gave us a short private tour.
We were also lucky with our dinner: the restaurant still had a delicious, albeit a day late, Thanksgiving turkey menu for us. So we were wonderfully compensated for the rainy and very stormy day!
