Wedding Bells

... Well, there probably won’t be any bells, but I’m already looking forward to our wedding. We’re keeping it small, so only our parents will be there for the ceremony at the Vaterstetten Registry Office.

We’ve already written a speech and picked out a beautiful song to play during the ceremony. We actually set the date before the official proposal. But then, on June 6, 2024, Simon really went all out and proposed to me in a beautiful way on the beach in Usedom.

I’ll be wearing my lovely blue dress for the ceremony, and Simon will wear a suit with a light blue shirt. We won’t be exchanging rings, since neither of us really wears jewelry and the rings would just get in the way or end up in a drawer. But as the registrar so beautifully put it: “Rings and witnesses are just decorative accessories and not mandatory.”

Two weeks after the wedding, we’ll have a small celebration with friends and neighbors at our place. We’ll see how festive we can make it.
