After a cold night on the bus, but with a beautiful starry sky and sunrise, we arrive in Bariloche.
The lake area around the small town is really impressive and ideal for hiking around the lakes and up the mountains.
Thanks to the affordable public buses, it is also easy to reach the starting points for excursions.
In winter, Bariloche is a ski resort, which is why there are many chairlifts that are also operational in the summer for the lazy ones (we belong to that group, but only because we don't want to do a 2-day tour).
The forests here are really beautiful and the vegetation takes on familiar traits: rose hips, cherry trees, raspberry, blackberry, and currant bushes are found on our hike.
The view, after a short ascent, is fantastic, with a very nice view of the lakes.
On another day, we decide to take the cable car and chairlift to Cerro Catedral.
It's somehow very strange to be in a ski resort in summer, instead of snow there is now earth and rocks beneath us, hard to imagine that you can ski here!
From the very top, the view is beautiful thanks to the wonderful weather.
