20 to Satigny (Geneva)

Ishicilelwe: 24.09.2024

Route 90 kilometers, cum. 944 kilometers | Elevation 1,170 meters, cum. 4,370 meters, distance to home 187 kilometers

Staying in a studio is always great for me. There's plenty of space, a kitchen, and yesterday I even had a balcony. I enjoyed using it because the sun came out too.

The ride this morning didn't start off very bike-friendly. Once out of the city, it went along the entire lake at the edge of a road. There was rarely a bike lane, but the traffic was manageable.

After that, I often rode on bike paths or side streets. I was surprised by the altitude differences that I had to tackle. In total, I climbed over 1,100 meters.

Then I suddenly encountered the Rhône again, which I had left in Valence two days ago. Unfortunately, there is no path that runs along the river. So I kept coming across it until I had to cross it once. That was the last time, and I won’t encounter it again on this trip. There are several other bodies of water awaiting me.

Since I got to know Geneva while walking around Lake Geneva, I wanted to discover something new on this trip. Additionally, accommodations in Geneva are very expensive. Therefore, after a detour into Switzerland, I returned to France. Starting tomorrow, I will definitely stay in Switzerland.
