Route 80 kilometers, cumulative 854 kilometers | Elevation gain 350, cumulative 3,200 meters, distance to home 234 kilometers
The weather forecast for today promised a lot of rain, but almost no wind. However, it turned out like yesterday. Only this time it was already dry when I set off, and it remained so for three-quarters of the journey. With two stops, I arrived at my destination almost dry.
Again today, I passed by thousands of walnut trees. Then came the vineyards of Savoy, where mechanical harvesting was done again. According to my research, this type of harvesting also brings many advantages, and there are almost no disadvantages; rather, it is a matter of belief.
After having to leave the Isère, I passed some hills that took me through small towns. The journey was very varied, and just in time for my lunch break, I arrived at a lake, Lac de St. André. A small but charming body of water, despite the cloudy sky.
Suddenly, I realized it was about to rain. So I set off earlier than I actually wanted. I managed another 20 kilometers dry until the rain reached me. I don't really mind the rain, but since it was just a short shower, I took shelter under a bridge, where it was dry.
My destination lies at Lac du Bourget. Aix-les-Bains is a popular vacation spot with wonderful beach areas. However, the season is over here as well, and there aren't many tourists left.
Today I booked another studio at a good price. The advantage is that there is also a kitchenette, but I will only use it to make hot water.
There is actually a bike room, but when I realized that the elevator was large enough to fit my big bicycle in, I decided to take it with me. Here I can also charge the batteries without having to remove them.
