Day 9 Medellin - Guatape Trip to the Countryside

This morning I left bustling Medellin by bus. Guatape was a recommendation from the man I met at the airport. The special feature here is an artificially created reservoir with many water channels. Additionally, there is a large unique mountain with an impressive staircase to the summit. From there, you apparently have a very beautiful panorama.

Guatape is also known for its colorful historic center, with house bases designed in relief art. Our accommodation, a garden hut, is located about 6 km outside in a beautiful garden area with access to the lake. It was a bit inconvenient that we could only pay in cash. The maximum amount for withdrawal is usually around 130 euros. Fortunately, you can withdraw multiple times in a row. We were warmly welcomed by Luz Marina, and the hut is even equipped with some groceries. Today we cook ourselves. We're having aglio e olio spaghetti. Hopefully, the mosquitoes won't bother us too much. 😅
