In the morning, Leonie and I went to the market hall near her apartment to buy breakfast. We got fruit, baguette, hummus, olives, and vegetables. The market was very busy and it was fun to watch the French people going about their daily business. We then prepared the purchased items in the small attic apartment and enjoyed our feast.
At noon, we walked into the city to meet up with Merle and her Afghan family, where they were staying. The meeting point was the Mirroir d'Eau, a fountain that sprayed a thin film of water over the sandstones, creating a reflection of the riverside promenade. We then continued together with Merle, her brother, and the two younger Hazara siblings, while the others found a cozy café. After wandering around the city for a while, we also sat down at a café. We were served by a loud older French woman who ran the café. We smoked cigarettes and drank coffee. When we had rested enough, we went to the bar across the street to play Babyfoot (foosball) and drink beer.
In the evening, we met up with Leonie's friends in the park by the Garonne River, drank wine, and socialized. As the evening got later and the group thinned out, Leonie and I also walked home.
