Today we drive to Reine, the village before the small town of Ä.

Reine is the administrative center of the municipality of Moskenes in the Lofoten Islands in Norway. The village has 304 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2023) and has existed since 1743. Today, tourism is important. Despite its remote location, thousands of people visit this area every year. The European route E10 runs through Reine. Reine is known for its scenic beauty. The view of Reine from Mount Reinebringen is a popular photo subject that is used for the covers of many tourist brochures and books.

Å i Lofoten or Å for short is a town with around 100 inhabitants in the Lofoten region of Norway, on the east side of the island of Moskenesøy. The name, etymologically related to Aa, Ache and Latin aqua, means something like stream. Å can be reached by sea with a ferry from Bodø to Moskenes and by land via Kong Olafvs veg, which opened in 1992, via Sørvågen.

Most of the town and the freshwater lake belong to the Johan B. Larsen family and their descendants. The town now lives mainly from tourism in the summer months. The two museums located there make an important contribution to the presentation of culture in Lofoten. Å is primarily a fishing village museum and consists of 23 buildings that are 150 years old and still in their original location. These include some rorbuer, boathouses, a smithy and a bakery as well as a blubber cookery.

In the evening we visit the Havila ship in Svolvaer, which is moored in the harbor, from where we can also see the Northern Lights.
